3 Songs-Writing 101 (Day 3)

Okay, so let me just start by saying I absolutely love music. It’s one of my long term goals to become a famous musician. (Hey, a girl can dream, can’t she?)

Even though I adore music, not every song I’ve ever heard means something to me. Of course, there have been multiple songs which match my mood perfectly, but I can’t say that they were ‘life changing’. Can a song really even be life changing? I don’t know, I really don’t. But here’s a list of my three favorite songs; songs that have touched me in a way none others have:

1) Unbreakable by Faydee

This song is so inspirational. It encouraged me to keep my head up high when I was going through a tough time last year. I became stronger, less vulnerable and I learnt that well, you’re not everybody’s cup of tea. But no matter what the haters say, you have to move on and leave them behind. You can’t take what they say seriously, or let them crush you. That will be your ultimate defeat. You’re better than that.

2) Kiss me by Ed Sheeran

I just love this song. The tune, the lyrics, the composition, everything is just beautiful! It’s a rather slow, bluesy song, and once again, it helped me a lot last year. I would just close my eyes and listen to this song on repeat at night, and eventually, after thinking everything through, I would just fall asleep. My mother would often remove the headphones from my ears after I’d fallen asleep.

3) Hero-Enrique

Childhood favorite! My dad used to love this song and he’s the one who introduced me to it. It’s so old and I listen to it till this day, but hey, music doesn’t have an expiry date.

I have many other favorites, and no, not all of them are slow, sad songs, but I picked these out as they were the most prominent in defining my life.
